Adejare B Olaitan is the founder/CEO of Mydee Essential Limited which specializes in information technology and e-commerce. He shares his thoughts on entrepreneurship and co-working.
Tell us about yourself:

My Name is Adejare B Olaitan, a graduate of Computer Science. I am blessed with a beautiful wife Pamela Adejare who is a Founder of Train A Child Foundation and CEO of MC Bridal Homes. We are blessed with beautiful children boys and girl including twins.

How did you start your company:

I started my company when I was working with Global Scan System Nigeria Limited in Victoria Island as IT Officer. I noticed that when we are paid salary before 10th of the month I will be broke. So, I told myself that I need to build my own empire which gave birth to My-Dee Essential in 2012.

What was your key force to become an Entrepreneur:

To be my own boss

Starting a company in an environment like ours is quite challenging, share some of the challenges you encountered when you started your company: 

  1. Capital to operate
  2. Government policies
  3. Political crisis in the country

Share some of your failures and the best lessons you’ve learned from been an entrepreneur:

  1. Planning too big, trying to start with what I have
  2. In Experience
  3. Human resource management
  4. Never hire on sentiment or family relation

What would you say is your greatest entrepreneurial achievement to be proud of:

My great entrepreneurial achievements are essentialprice.com and essential farm business

What do you think is the best approach for a startup to scale up?

The best approach to start up is starting and planning with what you have, so with God all things are possible. And having passion for what you do couple with good ATTITUDE

What are the key principles you follow to build successful customer relations and retention?

ATTITUDE and quality service/products. Integrity and Time consciousness

What is your typical working day like?

My typical working day start from praise and worship, early morning prayer at home with my family. Come to the office and close when there is nothing remaining to do.

How do you unwind to relieve yourself of the stress of being a CEO?

I unwind with my family at the pool side and watch movie.

What is your view about co-working hubs?

My view about co-working hub is an awesome and beautiful idea for starters like us that cannot afford to pay for long term for office apartment
